Use your own domain name

Before you start

• A published website in BPA.
• Someone who can add DNS records for your domain, or your IT provider.

Steps

1. Open your site and choose Domains, then Add domain.
   Enter the address with the www, such as www.yourcompany.com.au.
2. Copy the two records we show you.
   One CNAME that points your address at us, and one TXT that proves you own it.
3. Add both records at whoever manages your DNS.
   That is usually your IT provider, or the company you bought the domain from.
4. Wait a few minutes, then choose Check.
   Once both records are visible we request your certificate automatically.
5. Set up a redirect from your bare domain.
   So yourcompany.com.au sends people to the www version. Most DNS providers can do this in a couple of clicks.

What you should see

Your site loads at your own address with a padlock, and the bare domain sends people to it.

If it does not work

It says waiting on DNS long after I added the records.
DNS can take time to spread. If it is still waiting after an hour, check the record was added to the right domain and has no trailing spaces.

The bare domain shows a security warning.
Your redirect is only handling insecure traffic. Contact us and we will suggest a better option.
