Build and publish your first form
By the end of this you will have a form people can fill in, and you will be able to see what they submitted.
Before you start
- You are signed in to BPA.
- You can see Forms in the left menu. If you cannot, ask your team admin.
Steps
- Open Forms and choose New form.
Give it a name people will recognise, such as “Staff leave request”. You can change it later. - Drag the fields you need onto the page.
Start with the obvious ones. A short answer for a name, a date, a long answer for the reason. - Click a field to set its options.
This is where you make a field required, or add help text under it. - Choose Preview and fill it in yourself.
Always do this. It is the fastest way to notice a confusing question. - Choose Publish.
Nothing is live until you publish. Until then only you can see it. - Copy the link and send it to someone.
Anyone with the link can fill it in. They do not need a BPA login.
What you should see
Fill in your own form once. Then open Submissions and your answer should be sitting there, with the time you sent it.
If it does not work
I published, but the link shows “not found”.
Publishing takes a few seconds. Refresh once. If it persists, check the form is published rather than still a draft.
Someone says they cannot open the link.
Check you sent the published link and not the preview one. Preview links only work for you.
My changes are not showing.
Editing changes the draft. Publish again to make the change live.
