Certificates: what we cover, and what not to cancel
What BPA takes over, what stays yours, and the mistake that takes systems down.
We issue the certificate for your website address and renew it automatically, for as long as your site is with us. You will never be asked for a certificate file, a private key or a password, and you never buy or renew that one again.
That is the whole of what we cover. It is one hostname, your website, and nothing else you run.
Check before you cancel anything. Many businesses hold a single certificate that also protects mail servers, VPN access, remote desktop or internal systems. Cancelling one of those to save a website fee will take those systems down. If yours is a wildcard, written as
*.yourcompany.com.au, assume it is covering other things and keep it.
If you are not certain what yours covers, send us the details before you cancel and we will tell you.
Can we supply our own certificate?
Not at present. Ours are issued and renewed automatically before expiry, which removes the most common cause of website outages. If your organisation has a policy requiring a particular certificate authority, tell us early and we will work through it with you.
