See what a Flow did, and why it stopped

When something did not happen, this is the first place to look.

flows Last reviewed 2026-08-28 · About 2 minutes

Before you start

  • A Flow that has run at least once.

Steps

  1. Open the Flow and choose Runs.
One row per time it started, newest first.
  2. Open the run you are interested in.
You see each step, in order, with a tick or a cross.
  3. Find the first step that is not ticked.
That is where it stopped. Everything after it never happened.
  4. Read the message on that step.
It usually says plainly what was missing, such as an address that was empty.

What you should see

You can point at one step and say what went wrong, without guessing.

If it does not work

There are no runs at all.
The Flow never started. Either it is not published, or the trigger does not match what you did.

The run is still going after a long time.
It is probably waiting on a person at an approval step.
